Today marks my 10th anniversary at Mastercard.

In that time, I’ve held 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘀, lived in 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, and traveled to 𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲. Along the way, I’ve met incredible people who’ve inspired, challenged, and supported me.

I joined Mastercard as a 𝗨𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗿, driven by a passion for 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Over the years, I’ve grown into a 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿—one who thrives in complexity, collaboration, and uncertainty.

I’ve had the privilege of leading 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗿-𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 across several areas in payments: 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 (𝗕𝟮𝗕), 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿 (𝗕𝟮𝗕𝟮𝗖), 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁/𝗗𝗲𝗯𝗶𝘁, 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘀, 𝗲𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲, 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹, and strategic growth areas.

In 2017, I moved to 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘆𝗮 to lead 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 for Mastercard’s 𝗟𝗮𝗯 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, focusing on 𝗠𝗦𝗠𝗘𝘀, 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆, 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗱𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴. Many concepts didn’t scale—but that’s part of innovation. Our biggest success came in 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, where we grew the 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 to 𝟭𝗠 users across 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 and 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, before handing it off for commercialization.

In 2021, I returned to North America to lead 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲, Mastercard’s POS platform. The goal was to 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 and reduce hardware costs for MSMEs. The platform launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, when demand for safer, touch-free payments accelerated—and our work helped inform several sister projects across the company.

After ten years, I’ve learned a lot of lessons—but two stand out:

💡 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁.

Asking the right questions creates meaning, drives creativity, and opens space for new perspectives. There’s an openness to curiosity that invites creative ideas and new ways of solving problems.

🌍 𝗚𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗲.

Toyota has a principle, 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘩𝘪 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘣𝘶𝘵𝘴𝘶—“go and see for yourself.” Reports or second-hand analysis cannot replace direct experience. Being on the ground helps bridge global, regional, and local nuances—and leads to stronger collaboration.
