I recently read Josep Albers’ Homage to the Square, which is an influential project that helped teach the effect of colors. Much has been written about this project.
My goal was to learn more about the interaction of color because my training primarily focused on Computer Science and Human-Computer Interaction (with emphasis on systems thinking, engineering psychology, and interaction design).
I decided to use Albers’ square to explore the visual impact of a theme in Figma. I created 20+ squares. The activity was meditative. I enjoyed the ascending / descending effect (see 3) and visual tension (see 10).
