Breathe Easy, Live Healthy
Ayer is an air quality app that empowers you to take control of your health by providing real-time, hyperlocal air quality information, personalized alerts, and actionable insights so you can make informed decisions about your daily activities.
Project Objective
- Explore how AI can enhance the entire product development journey, using it as a partner to design and build in parallel while learning from each stage.
- Use mind maps to brainstorm and architect the product, capturing ideas visually to clarify features, workflows, and user experience before development.
- Create a product to measure local air quality, drawing on my experience with Dart and Flutter to make a tool that works seamlessly across platforms.
- Connect with IoT devices to monitor indoor air quality, bringing together real-time data and user-friendly design to make environmental insights more accessible.
Rapid Prototyping with AI
I built this project with Cursor AI in Flutter, starting with mind maps to define the core concepts, architecture, workflows, and hypotheses. This planning step guided my search for a suitable API, informed my understanding of the data, and shaped the design of a few essential screens. Conceived as a focused, utilitarian tool, the app’s light design centers on rendering air quality data clearly and efficiently. The process demonstrated how structured ideation and rapid prototyping can quickly turn a concept into a functional product.
Tools
The following products, tools, and services were used to build the Ayer demo app. Cursor is the AI IDE I used to build the concept.
